Vietnam's coffee exports increased sharply from January to August.

Statistics from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development show that by the end of August, Vietnam had exported 1.27 million tons of coffee with an export value of US $2.25 billion, with year-on-year increases of nearly 40 per cent and 20.7 per cent respectively. The export price of coffee averaged US $1754 per ton, down 14.5% from the same period last year. Germany and the United States are the largest consumers of Vietnamese coffee, accounting for 15% and 13%, respectively.
