A couple, who are famous for their log design, have always wanted to open a cafe of their own and finally found a suitable place.

Alex and Katja, a Berlin couple, became so popular for making a table out of logs that they directly set up a studio called buchholzberlin, which makes hand-polished log furniture, and gradually developed into a professional team of more than a dozen members to study how to make log materials last.

All tables, chairs and tableware retain the natural color, shape and grain of wood, including cracking and corrosion, with a simple and natural taste.

The table top is not completely stitched up, and the slender wooden legs under the table are staggered, but have a natural sense of art.

The couple didn't just want to have a studio to display their work, they discussed with their friends who were cooks in the restaurant about opening a shop of their own. The old white house in the alley in Mitte District always attracted their attention, and they finally met the owner of the house in constant glance.

The hostess of the house left the house empty for nearly ten years because she lived in the United States for a long time. It is almost the oldest house in the area. it used to be the entrance to a ballroom, a tobacco shop selling tobacco and a holiday villa for aristocrats. Because it is handed down from generation to generation in the family, the owner is very cautious about it. After six months of discussion, the house was finally taken over.
