Do you want your lover to listen to you? Then buy him or her coffee! A new Australian study has found that drinking coffee not only refreshes, but also makes people "soft ears"(obedient).
Researchers at the University of Queensland's School of Psychology asked 140 students about euthanasia and abortion. Afterwards, they were given orange juice or coffee and read lobbying articles contrary to their views. The results showed that students who drank coffee were more likely to change their stance.
Coffee contains caffeine, which makes it easier to compromise, but the amount of coffee must be moderate, the researchers said. Professor martin, of the university of queensland's school of psychology, said the study could have many uses, not only for couples to use coffee to soften their partner's ears, but for politicians and advertisers to increase their attractiveness by inviting audiences to coffee when speaking or lobbying customers.
