They are classified according to the state of origin and the port of transportation. Coffee is produced in 17 of Brazil's 21 states, but four of them produce the most, accounting for 98 per cent of the country's total: Parana, Sao Paulo, Minas Gerais and Espirito Santo, with Parana in the south producing the most, accounting for 50 per cent of the total.
