Just by shuttling between mocha pot and bean grinder, milk can be used to make hearts, petals and even shapes on coffee and coffee oil, giving a cup of cappuccino unique beauty and taste-this is the work of professional baristas full of artistic creativity and fashion.
Coffee is one of the world's top three drinks and the second largest export commodity after oil. More than 3000 coffee beans are grown and processed in more than 50 countries around the world, with an annual global consumption of 7 million tons. With the improvement of people's living standards and the deepening of exchanges with western countries, the domestic coffee industry has developed rapidly. The number of coffee professional places in many large and medium-sized cities in China is increasing at a rate of about 20% per year, which creates huge development space for professional baristas.
April 2006, by the national authority department evaluation, barista became the sixth batch of new occupation. Professional baristas are engaged in basic identification of coffee beans, blending different flavors of coffee according to the characteristics of coffee beans, making coffee using coffee equipment and coffee utensils, providing coffee service to customers and spreading coffee culture.
Professional baristas, as the disseminator of coffee culture and the shaper of fashion taste, are still scarce in China compared with foreign countries, and the gap of professional baristas is as high as 30,000 people every year. In terms of salary, professional baristas earn 2,000 - 10,000 yuan a month, while skilled professional baristas earn more than 10,000 yuan a month.
