Milk is the most widely used coffee condiment.

Traditionally, milk has never been added to coffee in countries like Yemen, Ethiopia and Turkey.

It is generally believed that milk was first added to coffee in Grenoble in 1685 by Sieur Monin. In the mid-1980s, 57 percent of Americans drank coffee with milk, and 81 percent of Germans had milk in their coffee. These numbers are interesting because German coffee is of much higher quality than American coffee. Even more surprising is the fact that 27% of Americans and 43% of Germans add sugar to their coffee.

The fat in whole milk masks the subtle taste of coffee, so try to use half fat or low fat milk. Pay attention to the temperature of the milk, because hot milk without rolling can add a touch of delicious and smooth coffee feeling!
