Maragogype
The most famous typica mutation was first found in the Maragogibi region of the Brazilian state of Bahia. Malagoji produces the world's largest coffee beans, sometimes called "elephant" coffee beans (not to be confused with a defect called "elephant ears"). Malaggibi coffee beans are grown in several countries and have become a popular coffee variety because of their smooth taste and attractive appearance. Unfortunately, because their yields are low and the cost of maintaining them is high, many trees are replaced by more "normal" growth at the end of their productive lives.
