According to Taiwan's "United Daily News" report, this "Economic and Trade National Conference Youth World Cafe Forum" will invite 50 Taiwanese youth to participate in the discussion of "Taiwan's economic development strategy under the trend of globalization" and "Taiwan's participation in regional economic and trade integration and cross-strait economic and trade strategies."

It is reported that after the meeting, a youth representative will be elected from each topic to present a summary report.

On the evening of March 18, 2014, some Taiwanese students and people who had objections to the Cross-Strait Agreement on Trade in Services broke through the police force and rushed into the "Legislative Yuan" to occupy the forum until April 10. This incident was called "318 Student Movement" or "Sunflower Student Movement". Therefore, the Taiwan authorities paid more attention to listening to the voices of young people and accepting suggestions from young people.
