Coffee was introduced to Zambia in the early 20th century from Kenya and Tanzania.

Zambian coffee is mainly grown in Kasama region in the north and Nakonde and Isoka regions near Lusaka, the capital. Giant coffee beans and bean-shaped berry coffee beans are now also produced.
