However, there is a legend that is often quoted because it is similar to the pronunciation of the coffee name: many years ago, in the Kaffa region of southwestern Ethiopia, there were shepherds herding sheep passing through a forest. After the sheep ate the red fruit of trees, they gradually jumped excitedly and rushed after each other. When the shepherd saw this, he also picked the fruit and chewed it. Later, he also felt refreshed. Therefore, the fruit is called "refreshing fruit", and in the local name, it is called "Kaffa".
