On October 1st, 1987, the only UCC Coffee Museum in Japan opened, located in the central district of Kobe, Japan. It was built by the world-famous Uamashima Coffee Co., Ltd. to commemorate its 60th anniversary. Its appearance refers to the modern design of the impression of Islamic temples, which regard coffee as a precious drink. The UCC Coffee Museum suffered little damage in the 1995 Kobe earthquake because of its unique design.
