To the north of Little Italy, just outside Soho, lies a small, European-style block that New Yorkers now often refer to as Nolita.

Although the area is modest, Nolita is home to independent bookstores, designer studios and a plethora of fine restaurants, many of which feature the trendiest "arts and crafts" of the moment. The Happy Bones Cafe, however, has a face that refuses to go with the flow, and its style is contrary to that of other shops in the same area.

Located in a cramped space between two houses, the architects made the introduction of transparent light their first priority. "White background" and "black strip" as the visual theme, only the counter and coffee machine as the main character, and then a series of customized minimalist furniture decoration: such as oil drum transformation of garbage cans, metal partition built lockers, ceiling.

Finally, a fresh, simple wind has convinced New Yorkers, who have always been picky, to fall for it.
