Angolan coffee is gradually recovering.
Last updated 2026-09-29 — The deputy governor of Angola's Kwanza Sul province, Mateus Alves de Brito, recently revealed that between 2012 and 2013, around 3150 tons of coffee were produced in Kwanza Sul.
Angolan coffee production is mainly concentrated in the northeastern provinces, and when Angola became independent in 1975, it was the fourth largest coffee producer in the world, producing 220000 tons of coffee per year. During the civil war, the infrastructure of coffee production was damaged and coffee production gradually declined, and it is now gradually recovering.
