Users can see a change in the color of the drink simply by shining a non-toxic green laser indicator into the drink, the researchers said. Green, yellow and red represent low, medium and high caffeine concentrations, respectively. In addition, researchers have developed an automatic caffeine detection kit that can purify and concentrate caffeine in different samples. The chip laboratory (Lab-on-a-chip) system uses microfluidic technology to extract and detect caffeine in very few liquids.
