The Butucha washing station is located in Gedeb woreda, which is part of the Yirgacheffe (also known as Gedeo) area. Download the Yirgacheffe area map and find the exact location of Gedeb woreda. The coffee collected by the Butucha washing station was planted by 1500 small farmers at altitudes from 1945 to 2100.
The Butucha washing station was established in the 1970s, named after the grandfather of the current owner, Mr. Alemayehu Tilahun. "Coffee is my life. I can't live without coffee. Alemayehu cooperates with enthusiastic exporters. They are responsible for documentation and transportation in Ethiopia.
Both Alemayehu and Yintuo exports are convinced that the success of their quality lies in their attention to the details of all aspects of the production process. Ripe cherries reach pulp within 8 hours. Once there, the outside cherries are removed and fermented for 36 to 48 hours. Then wash the coffee with fresh water from the Moto River and dry it in a cool place until the parchment contains 12% water.
The coffee from the Butucha washing station is sweet and juicy. Typical flavors include blackcurrant, nectarine and berries.
